Course Overview:
Experts in the field of perioperative medicine will provide the latest evidence-based strategies for evaluating and managing patients in the perioperative setting through a series of case-based interactive lectures. This pre-course integrates current concepts of preoperative evaluation with effective management of common problems in the perioperative setting. The use of an Audience Response System will facilitate principles of adult learning and augment the interactive atmosphere by engaging attendees to seek answers to common and complex questions in the field of perioperative medicine.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Apply evidence-based literature within perioperative medicine to provide high-quality clinical care.
  • Provide accurate and timely preoperative risk assessment and implement appropriate risk reduction strategies for the surgical patient.
  • Effectively manage common postoperative conditions and complications using an evidence-based approach.
