Course Overview:

Coding rules for the most common categories of service provided by hospitalists will be presented, and typical problem areas within each of the categories will be discussed. Faculty presentations will be interactive and participatory, with practice case studies and an opportunity for questions and answers.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Implement the principles of a consistent process of medical decision-making that supports clinical documentation.
  • Discuss what is required to efficiently, accurately and completely document the clinical services performed.
  • Select CPT codes for the most common inpatient care encounters that facilitate accurate and optimal professional fee billing.
