ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Learning Session

Course Overview:
SHM is collaborating with ABIM to offer hospitalists an opportunity to participate in Maintenance of Certification Learning Sessions. In an interactive group session, this Pre-Course will facilitate ABIM-certified physicians through two learning modules, which can later be applied to earn up to 20 points toward the Self-Evaluation of Medical Knowledge requirement of the Maintenance of Certification program. Two modules will be presented: SHM's Internal Medicine – Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (approval pending) and ABIM's 2010 Update in Hospital-Based Internal Medicine. As an added benefit, learn about the new Recognition of Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine via MOC. Don't wait until your last year of certification to earn these important points.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Analyze the questions and through group discussion, determine the correct answers for these ABIM modules.
• Complete two Self-Evaluation of Medical Knowledge modules to facilitate earning points toward ABIM's MOC requirements.
• Navigate the ABIM Board recertification process with respect to Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine certification.
